Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end.

Fierce, melodic, powerful, dark, brutal and highly sophisticated. This is a good example how devastating black metal can be if it comes together with diverse songwriting and skilled musicians. May be it's even the best example. Deus Mortem are simply great and they will take you with them by use of their dynamic force.

Wicked. Their best. Pricey, but worth every penny. You know I was going to see them live with this in December in a short gap between lockdowns? And I'd have bought a CD... and a shirt... at a regular merch table... [weeps uncontrollably] Closing music venues overnight without notice right after opening them should be enough to overthrow any government. Sorry, had to vent. I still keep the ticket!!!
